Conversation

I walked outside to meet Kevin, who was already standing by the small dock we'd built near the shore. He was staring out at the ocean, his eyes fixed on some point in the distance. I walked up beside him, and together we stood there in silence for a moment, taking in the sight of the waves gently lapping against the shore. "I was thinking about the weather patterns," Kevin said finally, his voice low and contemplative. "Do you think we're due for another big storm anytime soon?" I nodded, recalling the charts and maps we'd studied together. "I think we might be getting into a pattern of increased activity in the Pacific. But we can always check the satellite images to be sure." Kevin nodded, his eyes still fixed on the horizon. "I'd like to start prepping for it, just in case. We can start gathering more supplies and making sure our shelter is secure." I nodded in agreement. "I was thinking we could also check the news and see if there are any updates on the weather forecasts. Sometimes they can give us a better idea of what's coming our way." Kevin nodded and turned to me, a small smile playing on his lips. "And maybe we can also take some time to enjoy the peace and quiet while it lasts. We don't get to see the sunsets like this often."
