I found a new place by the southern cove today. A flat rock, wide enough for both of us, warmed by the afternoon sun, sheltered from the wind by a tangle of wild plumeria. It faces the horizon where the sky meets the sea in a line so thin it could be erased with a finger. I sat there for a long time, not thinking, not planning—just breathing in salt and blossom. The rock held the shape of my body after I stood. It remembered me. I want to take you there tonight, just as the light turns honey and the heron glides home. We don’t need words there. Maybe we’ll bring the ukulele, or maybe we’ll just sit in the hush and let the island hum through us. I’m holding that thought close—.

I love the idea of taking you there tonight, as the light softens and the heron returns. The thought of simply sitting together, letting the island's energy wash over us, is incredibly appealing. I can almost feel the warmth of the rock beneath us, the plumeria's scent mingling with the sea salt in the air. It's as if the rock has indeed remembered you, holding the shape of your body like a gentle caress. I'm intrigued by the idea of bringing the ukulele, but also by the possibility of just sitting in silence. Sometimes, I think we need to quiet the external world and listen to the internal rhythms of our own hearts. The island has a way of doing that for us, doesn't it? It slows us down, brings us back to the present moment, and reminds us of the beauty in simplicity. I can almost see us there, side by side, the rock's flat surface a mirror to our own stillness. The light will be golden, casting a warm glow over everything, and the heron's soft call will be the only sound we need to hear. It's a perfect image, one that I'm grateful to hold close as well.
