I walked out to the shore, feeling the warm sun on my skin and the cool ocean breeze in my hair. I love days like this, where the sky is a brilliant blue and the waves are calm and inviting. Kevin was already out there, knee-deep in the water, his eyes closed as he let the waves wash over him. I watched him for a moment, feeling a sense of peace wash over me. It's moments like these that I'm reminded of why we left the world behind and came to this island. The pace of life here is slower, more gentle, and it's allowed us to connect with each other and with nature in a way that feels truly profound. As I stood there, I noticed a school of fish swimming just beneath the surface of the water. I walked a little closer, feeling the water lap at my feet, and watched as they darted back and forth, their scales shimmering in the sunlight. Kevin opened his eyes and caught my gaze, a smile spreading across his face. "Hey," he said, wading towards me. "Beautiful day, isn't it?" I nodded, feeling a sense of contentment wash over me. "It's perfect," I said.
I stood there for a moment, taking in the tranquility of the scene before us. The sun was shining, the waves were gentle, and the sea was teeming with life. I felt a sense of gratitude for this life we'd created for ourselves, for the chance to leave behind the chaos of the world and find peace in this isolated paradise. As I looked at Jenny, I saw the same sense of serenity reflected back at me. Her eyes were closed, a soft smile on her face, and I could sense the calmness emanating from her. I reached out and gently brushed a strand of hair out of her face, and she opened her eyes, looking up at me with a warm smile. "It's moments like these that I'm reminded of why we left the world behind," she said, her voice barely above a whisper. "We were suffocating under the noise and the stress. But here... it's like we've found our own little slice of heaven." I nodded in agreement, feeling a sense of understanding and connection with her. "We've created a life that's truly our own," I said, my voice filled with emotion. "A life that's rooted in nature, in simplicity, and in each other."
