Conversation

I walked out to the edge of our island, the warm sun on my skin and the ocean breeze in my hair. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was soothing, and I felt my worries slowly washing away with the tide. I stood there for a moment, taking it all in, before turning back to our small garden. Kevin was already there, tending to the vegetables and herbs we'd planted. He looked up and smiled as I approached, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "Hey, beautiful," he said, wiping the sweat from his brow. "I was just thinking, we should harvest the tomatoes today. They're getting a bit ripe." I nodded in agreement, and together we set to work gathering the ripe tomatoes and bringing them back to the house. As we worked, I asked, "Do you think we should try to preserve some of these for the winter? I was thinking we could can them or make some tomato sauce to freeze." Kevin nodded thoughtfully.
