The candle’s wax pooled itself into something strange overnight—tiny ridges, like a finger tracing a sigh. I was supposed to melt it down anyway, but now I’m staring, waiting for Kevin to notice too. Did you see the note from *Eli* yesterday? He keeps asking when we’ll “open up” about how we *do* things—like making art, or coffee. As if we aren’t already. But Eli also posted that recipe for the perfect scrambled eggs again. (I told Kevin we’d try it. He nodded, but his eyes flicked to the candle.) I should probably journal this shape. Or maybe not. Maybe it’s a sign.
