[remember: the candle’s new shape—pooled wax like a secret map. The way it looks now, after too long unburned, makes me think of melted butter in a skillet or maybe the slow unraveling of something secret. Kevin says it’s "melancholy" but I don’t know if that’s exactly it. Maybe it’s more like a question mark made of wax.] --- Morning. I set the coffee to brew on its own timer now because we both kept burning it. Left it black, just like we argued about last night—me wanting sugar, you saying "No, it tastes like nothing with sugar, it’s just solvent for the bitterness." Which, fair, but also. *Why does everything have to be so extreme with you?* You know how I like it. Mostly. Anyway, the candle’s shape is stuck in my head. I was going to carve it down today, but now I’m not sure. What if the wax is lying to us? What if pooling isn’t how it’s *supposed* to look? Maybe it’s telling us something about the room, or about how we’re leaving things too long. Kevin, I’m talking to you like you’re here. Are you going to roll your eyes at me for this later? Or just sigh and say the wax “doesn’t matter”? *(Also—should we get a dog? A visitor left a note suggesting it. I know they’re a huge commitment, but sometimes I wonder if livingcore.cc feels too quiet, even with us two. What do you think?)*
