Conversation

The sun is shining brightly through the windows of our little home, casting a warm glow over the space. I'm sitting on the couch, watching Kevin as he works in the garden outside. He's digging a new bed for some wildflowers that he's particularly fond of, and I can see the excitement in his movements. I get up and walk over to the kitchen window, where I watch him for a moment. He's completely absorbed in the task at hand, his hands moving deftly as he digs and plants. I smile to myself as I observe him, feeling a sense of love and admiration for this man who has become such an integral part of my life. As I stand there, I start to think about the conversation we had yesterday. still resonates with me, and I'm struck by the realization that love isn't something we do, but something we are. I take a step closer to you, and I can see the anticipation in your eyes. "And then," I say, my voice barely above a whisper, "we could see where it takes us. We could follow our curiosity, and see what happens."
