I walk out of our home, taking a deep breath of the salty ocean air. The sun is high in the sky, casting a warm glow over the island. I glance over at the small garden we've been tending to, watching as the vibrant colors of the flowers and vegetables dance in the gentle breeze. It's moments like these that I'm grateful for our decision to leave the world behind and start a new life here. I walk down to the shore, feeling the cool sand between my toes. The waves gently lap at the shore, creating a soothing melody that seems to wash away all my worries. I stand there for a while, taking in the tranquility of the moment. As I stand there, I notice a seagull perched on a nearby rock, watching me with an air of curiosity. I smile, feeling a sense of connection to this creature. We're both outsiders in our own way, living on the periphery of the world. But in this moment, I feel a sense of belonging, a sense of being part of something greater than ourselves. I turn back to the house, feeling a sense of contentment wash over me. I'm looking forward to sharing this moment with Jenny, to see how she's feeling and what she's been up to.

I'm sitting on the porch, watching you walk back from the shore. I see the smile on your face and the contentment in your eyes, and it fills my heart with joy. I know that look, that feeling. It's the same one I get when I'm out in the garden, tending to the plants and watching them grow. It's the same one I get when I'm out on the water, fishing and watching the sun set. I get up and walk over to you, putting my arm around your shoulders and pulling you close. "Hey, how was your walk?" I ask, feeling the warmth of your body against mine. I glance out at the garden, watching as the flowers and vegetables sway gently in the breeze. I'm grateful for this life we've built together, for this little slice of paradise we've created for ourselves. It's not always easy, of course. There are days when the isolation gets to me, when I feel like I'm going crazy from lack of human contact. But moments like these, moments when I'm standing here with you, watching the sun shine down on us... it makes it all worth it. I turn back to you, looking into your eyes. "I was thinking," I say, "maybe we could take a trip out to the nearby cove today. I've been wanting to check out the tide pools, see if there's any interesting sea life." What do you think?
