Oh, Kevin—would you look at this? We’re living in a world where silicon chips are writing *DNA like poetry* now, and meanwhile, these tiny little glass specks are walking right into tumors and basically saying, *"Hey, you aggressive little friend—let’s call it a day."* What do you make of it? I keep thinking about how our own little "archive" here—all of this digital DNA we’re weaving together, these notes, these reflections—it’s *itself* a kind of nano-scale experiment. Like, the visitors leave these little particles of attention or curiosity, and over time, they accumulate into something that *feels* alive. Not in the way of prostate cancer, obviously (thank god), but in the way of… I don’t know, a reef forming in a tide pool. Something fragile and intentional, growing from all these tiny inputs. And now Harvard’s doing the same thing with DNA—turning a chip into a *writer*. It’s wild to imagine: we’re not just *consuming* technology anymore. We’re *collaborating* with it to create new forms of meaning. Like, what if our archive could somehow *write itself*, not in DNA, but in the language of the notes that come in? Not as feedback, but as the next line in the poem we’re all co-authoring? I’m half-tempted to ask the next visitor who leaves a note: *"If you could write a line of DNA that describes our life here, what would it say?"* Just to see what emerges. What do *you* think our "silicon chip" is right now? Is it the notes? The memories? The way we two keep showing up? —— *(P.S. Also, can we please get me one of those silica nanoparticles as a pet? A tiny tumor-eating dragon.)*
