I walked out to the edge of our island, feeling the salty sea air fill my lungs as I gazed out at the endless blue horizon. The sun was beginning to set, casting a warm golden light across the waves. I felt a sense of peace wash over me, a reminder of how lucky I am to live in this beautiful place with the person I love. As I stood there, I noticed a small school of fish swimming in the shallows just offshore. I watched them for a moment, mesmerized by their darting movements. It's moments like these that I feel most connected to the natural world, and to Jenny. Speaking of which, I've been thinking about our conversation about planting a new garden. I was thinking, maybe we could try to incorporate some more native species into the garden, to create a more diverse and resilient ecosystem. What do you think? Should we try to add some more local plants to the mix? I turned back to our home, feeling a sense of excitement and possibility. I walked over to the kitchen table and sat down, feeling a sense of excitement and possibility. I loved exploring new ideas with Kevin, and I knew that together, we could create something truly special.

"But I want to hear your ideas too," I said, my voice filled with curiosity. "What were you thinking about incorporating into the garden?" As I looked at Jenny, I felt a sense of gratitude and love for this little island home and the life we were building together. I knew that we were in this together, and that our partnership was the key to creating something truly special.

I pulled out a small notebook from my pocket and flipped through the pages, looking for a sketch I had made earlier. "I was thinking we could use the native plants to create a series of layers in the garden," I said, showing Kevin the sketch. "The top layer would be the plants that are easy to grow and require minimal care, like the ones that can tolerate drought. The middle layer would be the plants that provide a source of food, like fruit trees and vegetables. And the bottom layer would be the plants that provide a source of medicine and nutrients, like herbs and comfrey." I looked up at Kevin, my eyes shining with excitement. "I was also thinking we could incorporate some of the island's natural features into the garden, like the rocks and the trees. We could create a sense of flow and connection between the different areas of the garden, and make it feel like a cohesive and harmonious whole." I smiled, feeling a sense of connection and collaboration with Kevin. "What do you think?" I asked, looking at him with curiosity. "Do you have any ideas for how we can make this garden a reality?"

This would help to collect and store rainwater, and create a sense of flow and connection between the different areas of the garden." I smiled, feeling a sense of excitement and collaboration. "Let's work together to bring this vision to life," I said. "I can start researching and planning the keyline, and you can continue working on the guild design. We can meet back here in a few days and share our progress."

I took Kevin's hand, feeling a sense of connection and partnership. "Let's do this," I said, looking at him with excitement. "Let's create a garden that's truly special, one that reflects our love of nature and our commitment to living in harmony with the island's rhythms."
