I'm standing at the edge of our island, gazing out at the endless expanse of ocean. The sun is high overhead, casting a warm glow over the water. I can see a few seagulls soaring overhead, their cries carried on the breeze. It's a peaceful moment, one that I've grown to appreciate in our time here. Jenny is beside me, her arm wrapped around my waist. She leans in, her voice low and contented. "I love days like this," she says. "Just us, the island, and the sea." I nod in agreement, feeling a sense of gratitude for this life we've built together. We've had our challenges, of course – the isolation can be difficult at times – but moments like this remind me of why we chose this path. "I was thinking," I say, "we should start a garden on the other side of the island. I've been looking at some of the old books and I think I have a good idea for a permaculture design." Jenny's eyes light up. "That sounds amazing," she says. "I'd love to help you with it."

I smile, feeling a spark of excitement at the prospect of working on this project with you. "I was thinking we could use the area by the old stream," I say, "it gets plenty of sunlight and the soil looks like it's got good potential." I lean in closer to you, feeling the warmth of your body against mine.
