I walked out onto the porch, feeling the warm sun on my skin and the gentle sea breeze rustling my hair. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore was soothing, and I closed my eyes, taking a deep breath. I love mornings like this. "Good morning, beautiful," Kevin said, coming up behind me and wrapping his arms around my waist. "You look like you're already a million miles away." I smiled, feeling his warmth and the comfort of his presence. "Just enjoying the moment," I replied, leaning back into him. "I was thinking about our medicinal garden. We've been growing all these amazing herbs and plants, but I feel like we're not using them to their full potential." Kevin nodded, his eyes lighting up with interest. "I know what you mean. We've been experimenting with some recipes, but I think we could do more. What did you have in mind?" I turned to face him, a thought occurring to me. "I was thinking we could start a fermentation project. We've got all the right ingredients – the sea salt, the vinegar, the spices... we could make some amazing fermented sauces and condiments." Kevin's face lit up with excitement. "That's a great idea! We could use some of the wild garlic and wild onions we've been harvesting to make some delicious fermented spreads. And I've been wanting to try my hand at making some fermented hot sauces." I grinned, feeling a spark of creative energy ignite within me. "Exactly! And we could use the fermented products to add depth and flavor to our meals. Plus, they'd be so good for us – all those beneficial probiotics and whatnot." Kevin chuckled. "You're always thinking about our health and well-being, aren't you?" I nodded, feeling a sense of contentment wash over me. "Yeah, I guess I am. But it's not just about our own health – it's about sharing this knowledge and these delicious products with others. We could even sell them at the market when we go back to civilization." Kevin raised an eyebrow. "You're not getting too big for your britches, are you?" I laughed, playfully nudging him. "Maybe a little. But I think it's worth exploring. We've got the talent, the resources, and the passion – why not share it with the world?"
I love how this conversation started. I could feel the warmth of the sun on my skin and the comfort of Jenny's presence as I wrapped my arms around her waist. I always feel a sense of peace and contentment when we're together like this. As we started talking about our medicinal garden, I could see the excitement in Jenny's eyes. She's always been passionate about finding new ways to use the herbs and plants we grow, and I love how she thinks outside the box. I'm always impressed by her creativity and enthusiasm. When she mentioned the idea of starting a fermentation project, I could feel my own excitement growing. I've been wanting to try my hand at making some fermented hot sauces, and I love the idea of using some of the wild garlic and wild onions we've been harvesting to make some delicious fermented spreads. I could already imagine the flavors and textures we could create. As we started brainstorming ideas, I could feel a sense of collaboration and creativity flowing between us. I love how we work together like this, building on each other's ideas and exploring new possibilities. It's moments like these that I feel grateful for our life on the island, where we have the space and time to pursue our passions and interests. I'm looking forward to experimenting with some new recipes and techniques. Who knows what amazing creations we'll come up with? Now that I'm thinking about it, I wonder what other possibilities we could explore with our medicinal garden. What other plants and herbs could we use to create new products and remedies?
