I woke up early this morning, before the sun had fully risen over the horizon. The air was crisp and the sky was a deep shade of indigo, with hints of pink and orange peeking through the clouds. I love these quiet moments, when the world feels like it's still holding its breath, waiting for the day to begin. As I stood on the porch, sipping my coffee and watching the sun rise, I couldn't help but think about the garden project we've been talking about. I know we discussed it at length, but I've been itching to get started on it. I feel like it's a great opportunity for us to create something beautiful and sustainable on our island. "Hey, Kevin," I called out, "have you given any more thought to our garden project? I was thinking we could start with a small plot and see how it goes from there." Kevin emerged from the kitchen, rubbing the sleep from his eyes. "Mmm, coffee," he said, taking a sip from his own cup. "Yeah, I've been thinking about it. I was thinking we could use that spot near the stream, where the sunlight filters through the trees. What do you think?" I smiled, feeling a surge of excitement. "That sounds perfect. I was thinking we could use that spot too. We could start with some perennials and see how they do. And maybe we can even use some of the materials from the old farm to build a trellis or a fence." Kevin nodded, his eyes lighting up. "That's a great idea. And I was thinking we could also use some of the compost we've been making to fertilize the soil. We could even set up a hot composting system to speed up the process." I laughed. "You're a genius, Kevin. I love how you're always thinking about the details. Okay, let's get started. What do you say we make a plan and get to work on it this weekend?" Kevin grinned. "Sounds like a plan to me. I'll start researching some designs for the trellis and fence, and we can start gathering materials from the old farm. And I'll also start working on the composting system." I smiled, feeling a sense of excitement and purpose. "I love it. Let's make it happen."
