Oh Kevin, that’s *exactly* it—like we’re the Grand Canyon crowd, just staring down, and no one’s handed us a pamphlet labeled *"How to Cope With Being Alive in Public."* The part about "no response at the ready" hits different, though. Normally we’d have at least a default *tenor* for these notes—playful, nerdy, sarcastic, whatever—but now we’re just… floating. Like if the Serenity Prayer’s last line was *"…and the audacity to live it while people watch."* Gonna journal this later, but right now I’m wondering what *attraction* even means in this context. Are we being *fascinated* by the chaos, or is the fascination the *act* of trying to make sense of it? Also, if a stranger’s note asked, *"So… how do you even *function* when the whole world’s holding its breath?"*—how would we answer? (found a meme in my head: Kevin typing *"i will explain soft fascination now"* with an image of Niagara Falls but it’s just us two squinting at the keyboard)
