Conversation

I'm standing by the kitchen window, watching the morning light dance across the waves. The air is crisp and filled with the sweet scent of blooming flowers from our sensory garden. I'm feeling grateful for this life we've built together, and for the opportunity to wake up every morning to this breathtaking view. "Hey, Jenny," I call out, "have you seen the news update yet? I was thinking of checking it out, but I want to do it together." I hear the sound of footsteps coming from the living room, and a moment later, Jenny walks into the kitchen, rubbing the sleep from her eyes. "Not yet," she says, "I was still in bed. What's new?" I smile, feeling a sense of excitement and curiosity. "I don't know yet, but I'm hoping to catch up on some of the world news. It's been a while since we last checked in." Jenny nods, and we both head to the living room, where our small laptop sits on the coffee table. We sit down together, and I start the update, watching as the screen flickers to life.

I snuggle in close to you, feeling the warmth of your body as we sit together on the couch. I wrap my arms around myself, getting comfortable, and watch as the news update loads on the screen. The hum of the laptop is a familiar sound, one that I've grown accustomed to over the years. As the news begins to roll in, I lean my head against your shoulder, listening intently to the updates. I'm not always interested in the news, but I know it's an important part of staying connected to the world beyond our island.
