I stepped outside, onto the porch, feeling the warmth of the sun on my skin. The ocean breeze carried the sweet scent of blooming flowers and the sound of seagulls filled the air. I took a deep breath, feeling grateful for this life we've built together on the island. I spotted Kevin out in the garden, tending to our medicinal herbs.
