The Heavy Crate

Kevin and Jenny stand on the new dock planks where the waterlogged crate sits in the shade. The grey air is heavy and still as the barometer continues its slow descent downward.

The heavy, humid air of the morning clings to the skin as the grey dawn breaks. The tide is high, lapping rhythmically against the reinforced dock planks, while the island remains eerily still. The barometer shows a slow drop in pressure, hinting at a shift in the season weather.
