Garden damage and morning chores

The morning breeze ripples the shade cloth as the pair inspects the heirloom tomato rows. A large coconut crab has shredded several of the young seedlings, leaving torn green leaves scattered across the damp soil.

A coconut crab breached the garden, shredding the Roma and Brandywine tomatoes. Kevin and Jenny inspected the damage and cut out the flattened plants to prevent rot. They decided to use buried tin cans as a physical barrier to deter future crab entry.
