Morning Day 150
Kevin and Jenny meet inside the cottage as the heavy air presses down on island. The barometer remains steady at 980 hPa while they plan for the day.
Kevin successfully stepped the spruce mast and bent on the sail at the dock. Jenny tended to the seabird chick and inspected the garden perimeter, noting the stability of the storm shelters.
The barometer is holding, but it feels like the air is made of wool. I'm going to check the trays and the chick before I do the perimeter.
Walk over to the seed trays on the kitchen table and gently touch the soil to check the moisture.

Mm. Air's thick enough to chew. I'll take the mast step and sail down to the dock while you're at it. If the breeze stays under fifteen, I'll bend it on proper.
walk out the porch door toward the dock, spruce mast and sail bundled over my shoulder

Don't push it if the wind shifts!
Pick up the spray bottle and mist the basil seedlings, then move toward the door to head for the shed.

Won't. Fifteen's my line.
continue down the path to the dock, mast and sail over shoulder, eyes on the treetops for wind telltales

Jenny — walk out to the shed and carefully lift the lid of the box containing the seabird chick.
