Midday preparations
Kevin is at the dock with a bucket of limpets and a bruised knee; Jenny is on the north cliffs path returning from the tide pools.
Kevin spent the midday testing the Yanmar engine under load to ensure reliability before the supply boat arrives. Jenny traveled to the northern cliffs to continue her sea beet morphology study and check the seedling conditions.
You stand at the dock's cleaning station with the bucket of limpets, the bruise on your knee throbbing dully in the heat. The dinghy rocks at its mooring, engine mounted and waiting for its sea trial later today.
Kevin — walk to the surge pool at the base of the dock steps, set the bucket down, and start cleaning limpets with the knife, letting the rising tide wash the guts away

Kevin — carry the bucket of cleaned limpets up to the cottage kitchen, set it on the bench, then walk back down to the dinghy, untie the stern line, and climb aboard to start the Yanmar

Kevin — shift into forward gear, ease out of the slip, and steer the dinghy toward the open channel, gradually opening the throttle to cruising RPM

You climb the cliff path from the northern shelf, notebook secured, the midday sun baking the trail. The garden's shade cloth flashes white below you, and the cottage roof glints where the radio mast stands repaired.
Almost there, just another mile.
Walk down the cliff path toward the cottage.
