Monitoring the Pressure Drop
Jenny kneels by the raised bed, checking the moisture levels of the new tomato seedlings. Kevin stands over her, watching the barometer on the porch as the needle continues its slow descent toward 1030 hPa.
The morning starts hot and calm, but the atmospheric pressure is dropping, signaling a change in weather. Kevin checks the dinghy engine and the garden perimeter while Jenny tends to the germinating seedling trays on the kitchen table.
Check the barometer again. We need to move them inside the bin.
Jenny presses the soil with her thumb and looks up at the clouds.
