The Tide Begins to Turn
The rain slackens slightly as the first ripples of the incoming tide reach the northern shelf. Kevin and Jenny gather their tools to prepare for the repair before the water covers the dock.
The tide is rising against the dock, making the old wood slick with algae. Jenny uses the heavy crowbar to pry the first rotten plank loose, while Kevin holds the replacement timber steady, ready to hammer the copper nails into place before the salt water swallows the gap.
The tide's coming in. We need to get those planks secured.
Picks up the heavy crowbar and walks to the end of the jetty.
