Evening chores and tide
The sun begins to dip, though the heat remains oppressive. The tide starts to turn back, covering the shelf.
The squall hits with a sudden gust of wind that lashes the sea beet seedlings, followed by a heavy wall of steady rain that blurs the horizon. The tide rises faster than usual, pushing salt water toward the lower stones of the garden wall.
The tide's coming back in.
Walk slowly into the kitchen and lean against the counter, staring at the pot of limpets.
