Jenny sits at the kitchen table watching the flat sky turn grey over the island. Kevin checks the barometer, noting the pressure remains steady at 975 hPa as the clouds thicken.
The morning sky is flat and heavy, with the cloud cover beginning to thicken over the island. The tide is high, lapping against the reinforced dock pilings, while inside the cottage, the scent of drying sea beet and boiled limpets lingers in the air.
