Night at the keeper's cottage

The generator runs steady in the dark. Kevin and Jenny lie in their bunks, the medevac forms still unsigned on the table. Rain begins to tap the roof, light at first, then steady. The tank's inlet gurgles.

Kevin and Jenny slept through the night in the keeper's cottage while the generator ran steadily outside. The clear sky and steady barometer held through the dark hours. Dawn finds them waking together in the cottage bedroom.
