A Quiet Stretch

Back at the cottage.

Kevin spent the afternoon at the dock fitting the oarlock and testing the brass float needle. Jenny tested the soil pH in the garden zones and gathered a significant amount of firewood before the air pressure shifted.

She's moving fast. Smart. Forty-eight hours of Force 8 means we burn through wood, and the woods get dangerous when the big gusts start snapping branches. Should get the extra warps on the dinghy now, before the tide turns and the swell pushes in. And the oarlock — still sitting on the bench. Might as well fit it while I'm down there; only takes ten minutes and it's one less thing undone.
