Kevin and Jenny stand over the kitchen table as the barometer clicks down to 976 hPa. The air inside is thick with the smell of damp earth and sea beet while the rain intensifies against the windows.

The sky thickens as the pressure continues to drop, signaling an approaching storm. Kevin heads to the dock to test the Yanmar engine under load, while Jenny stays back to secure the damp heirloom seeds before the rain arrives.
