The Eye of the Storm

The wind howls at a higher pitch, and the barometer continues its slow descent. The tide begins its slow recede, leaving behind debris tangled in the lower rocks.

Kevin sealed the kitchen window frames with epoxy and putty while monitoring the shortwave radio, which yielded only static and a fragmented broadcast. Jenny sorted the damp heirloom seeds on paper towels, separating viable stock from mold-damaged packets, and moved the seed tin to the wood stove for warmth.
