I was standing at the edge of the cove, gazing out at the vast expanse of turquoise water, feeling the warm breeze rustle my hair. Kevin was busy in the garden, tending to the latest batch of seedlings we'd planted. I called out to him, "Hey, Kevin! Come see this!" He wiped the sweat from his forehead and ambled over to where I was standing. "What is it?" he asked, his eyes squinting against the sun. "I was just thinking," I said, "about the way the light dances on the water. It's like the entire ocean is shimmering with tiny diamonds." Kevin smiled and took my hand. "It's beautiful, isn't it?" he said, his voice filled with a sense of wonder. We stood there in silence for a moment, taking in the breathtaking view. Then Kevin spoke up again. "You know, I was thinking about our plans for the future. We've been here for a while now, and I was wondering what you think about expanding our little island home." I raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "What did you have in mind?" I asked.
I love moments like these, where the world slows down and all that matters is the present. I squeeze your hand gently, still taking in the view. "Well, I was thinking we could build a little deck or a platform out over the water," I say, my eyes scanning the horizon. "Imagine being able to sit out there and watch the sunset, or see the stars come out at night. It would be like having our own private observatory." I turn to you, my face filled with excitement. "And we could also add a small greenhouse or a conservatory, where we can grow even more of our own food and flowers. It would be a beautiful way to bring the outdoors in, and create a sense of continuity between our home and the natural world." I pause, studying your expression. "What do you think? Do you see us building a bigger, more permanent home here on the island?"
