Noon radio watch and ankle crisis
Kevin sits at the radio in the shack, calling Tom on 16 MHz with no answer yet. Jenny lies on the porch blanket, unconscious, her ankle wound weeping through the bandage. The wind has risen to a steady blow, driving rain against the west wall where the shutter leaks.
Kevin makes the noon call to Tom on 16 MHz while the clouds thicken over the flat midday sky. Jenny rests in the cottage, her ankle showing signs of persistent infection as the humidity rises before the storm.
