A Quiet Stretch

Back at the cottage.

Kevin ladled hot limpet broth for Jenny on the porch while the generator purred and the barometer held steady at 986 hPa. Jenny drank slowly, her fever-flushed hand trembling around the tin mug, then leaned back with eyes closed against the rising wind. Kevin wiped the pot rim, set the mug down, and turned toward the radio shack to prepare for the noon call to Tom on 16 MHz.
