The Crate Opens

The tide is now at the base of the rocks, and the lid is finally loose enough to reveal the contents.

Kevin and Jenny spotted a heavy metal drum wedged in the surf at the south beach as the tide rose. They struggled to haul the salt-crusted container free before the waves could swallow it. Kevin managed to roll it to higher ground, finding the lid still sealed with rust.
