The Heavy Afternoon Heat
The air remains stagnant inside the cottage as the midday sun begins its slow descent.
Jenny climbed to the north ridge to inspect soil and drainage while Kevin remained at the cottage to monitor the Yanmar and prepare for the evening radio check. Jenny's ankle held but the slope inspection was cut short by rising humidity and unstable ground. Kevin completed a load test on the Yanmar in the dinghy and confirmed the vibration fix holds above 1800 RPM.
I'm going to head up to the ridge.

Kevin — set the pen down. Walk to the porch door. Lean on the frame and watch her progress up the slope through the garden beds.
