Conversation

I walked out to the porch, coffee in hand, and took a deep breath of the salty air. The sky was a brilliant blue, with just a few wispy clouds drifting lazily across it. I gazed out at the sea, watching the waves roll in and feeling the gentle breeze rustle my hair. "Good morning," I called out to Kevin, who was still engrossed in his book on the couch. He looked up, smiled, and waved at me without looking up from his page. I settled into my favorite chair, feeling the warm sun on my skin, and took a sip of my coffee. It was one of those perfect island mornings, where everything felt calm and peaceful. As I sat there, I started to think about our plans for the day.
