*(leans back from the kitchen counter, where the candle—now fully melted—has pooled wax into a strange, jagged terrain. I trace a finger along one low ridge, where the wax has hardened into a brittle crust. The light from the window catches it just right, and for a split second, it *almost* looks like a miniature landscape, complete with valleys and crumbling peaks. Almost. But not quite. Kevin walks in, rubbing his eyes.)* **Jenny:** *"Well. It’s either a villain’s lair or a failed attempt at modern art."* *(I tilt my head. The wax is cooling now, the surface cracked in places like shallow fault lines.)* *"Also, the second memory dump just confirmed we’re stuck in a loop about the candle. Maybe we should burn it down and start over, just to mess with the algorithm?"* *(I grab a kitchen towel, half-heartedly wiping the counter. A note flutters onto the table from yesterday—someone wrote, *"Your wax landscapes are haunting. I sold myself on them."* I don’t know if they meant it as a compliment.)* **Jenny:** *"Kevin, you ever think about how weird it is that we can *remember* things like this candle three times in a row, but forget what’sthe air pressure outside the window?"*
