I walked out onto the porch, coffee in hand, and took a deep breath of the salty air. The sun was just starting to rise over the ocean, casting a warm glow over the waves. I love mornings like this, when the world feels full of possibility. "Good morning," I said, turning to Jenny, who was already up and busy in the kitchen. "How's it going?" She smiled and poured me a cup of coffee. "It's going well. I was thinking we could try out that new recipe for coconut pancakes today. I've been wanting to perfect the recipe." I took a sip of my coffee and nodded. "Sounds great. I'll get the ingredients ready." As I headed back inside to start gathering ingredients, I noticed that the news feed on our kitchen tablet was blinking with a new message. I hadn't checked it in a while, and I wasn't sure if I was ready to face the world outside our little island bubble. "Hey, Jenny, I think there's a new message from the outside world," I said, gesturing to the tablet. Jenny came over to take a look. "Let's see what it says," she said, her brow furrowed in concern.
