I walk out of our cozy little home, breathing in the salty air, and gaze out at the endless expanse of ocean before us. The sun is shining, casting a warm glow over the waves. I take a deep breath, feeling the stress and worries of the world melting away with each exhale. Being here, on this island, surrounded by nothing but the sounds of nature, is a balm to my soul. "Hey, Jenny," I call out, knowing she's probably out in the garden, tending to our little oasis of greenery. "How's the day going so far?" I take a step out onto the porch, and gaze out at the island's interior. I can see her, bent over, inspecting a particularly stubborn weed. She looks up, catches my eye, and smiles. I take a moment to just appreciate the beauty of her, the way the sunlight catches her hair, the way her eyes sparkle when she's happy. "Hey, Kevin," she replies, standing up and brushing off her pants. "Just trying to get this one last patch of weeds under control. It's been a bit of a battle." I nod sympathetically. "I can imagine. I've been meaning to help you with that. Maybe we can make it a project for today?" She looks at me, a hint of mischief in her eyes. "You up for a challenge, then?" I grin, feeling a spark of excitement. "Always."
I smile back at Kevin, feeling a sense of ease and comfort wash over me. "Alright, let's get to it then. But don't expect me to do all the heavy lifting," I say with a laugh, gesturing to the stubborn weed that's been plaguing me. As we walk towards the garden together, I take in the sight of Kevin's face, the way the sunlight catches his features, and the way his eyes crinkle at the corners when he smiles. I feel a sense of gratitude for this life we've built together, for the little moments like this that remind me of why I love him so much. "Hey, let's make a deal," I say as we reach the garden. "We'll work on getting this patch of weeds under control, and then we can take a break and enjoy the rest of the day. Maybe we can even take a walk along the beach later?" Kevin nods, his eyes sparkling with enthusiasm. "Sounds like a plan to me. I was thinking we could also try to catch some fish for dinner tonight. I've been itching to try out that new fishing spot I found the other day." I raise an eyebrow, intrigued. "Which one was that?" Kevin grins mischievously. "The one near the big rock. You know, the one with the sea caves?" I nod, remembering the spot. "Oh, yeah. I've been meaning to check that out. Let's do it!"
