Kevin spends the afternoon inspecting the radio mast insulation, discovering a hairline fracture near the entry. Jenny focuses on the garden, checking the heirloom seed trays and documenting the progress of the tomato rows.

Tide's dropping fast. Good. Means I can see the bottom of the mooring mortise and finally sort that loose ring properly. Should've done this weeks ago.

Kevin — pull the crowbar free, wipe salt sweat from my eyes, and walk back to the cottage workshop to fetch the epoxy tub, bronze bar stock, drill bits, and the fine-tooth handsaw

Mortise is chewed out worse than I thought. Ring shifts a full inch under load — that's why the dinghy nearly fetched up on the rocks last swell. Need to epoxy in a hardwood sleeve and re-bolt it. Have the epoxy, have the bronze bar stock. Just need to cut the sleeve and drill it clean.
