The Evening Stillness
Kevin and Jenny gather in the kitchen as the stove light flickers. The smell of salt and drying herbs fills the room.
The air is heavy and still, smelling of the coming rain as the pressure drops. Inside the cottage, the humidity clings to the drying heirloom seeds and the damp paper towels, while outside, the tide is steadily creeping in, lapping at the lower rocks of the tide pools.
Coffee's still hot if you want it.
