Heavy rain drums against the tin roof as the wind picks up from the west. Jenny moves the seed trays closer to the wood stove to keep them dry while Kevin watches the barometer needle continue to drop.
The rain intensifies, a heavy lashing drumming against the cottage roof as the western wind whips salt-scented spray across the island. The barometer continues its slow descent, signaling a worsening front before the supply boat even arrives.
Radio check at noon. If the supply boat's still coming, they'll call it in.
