The Storm Breaks
Heavy rain begins to lash the island as Kevin and Jenny retreat toward the main shelter.
Kevin pries up the loose planks at the dock to assess the extent of the rot beneath the structure. Jenny spends the afternoon at the tide pools, observing the marine life and collecting specimens as the air pressure continues to drop.
You watch the swells increase against the dinghy. The rising tide is pushing debris against the pilings.
Kevin — walk to the dock, grab the crowbar, and start prying up the loose end of the second rotten plank to see how bad the rot goes beneath it.

Kevin — carry the three salvaged dock planks from the cottage to the jetty, lay them out, and start measuring and marking the first sister piece against the rotted stringer.

The fast tide is covering the rocks you were studying. You must move quickly before you are swept out.
