The wind picks up as the first heavy drops of rain hit the stone floor, muffling the sound of the tide la against the dock.

The thickening cloud cover presses down on the shrine as the air turns heavy with the pre-storm humidity. Kevin and Jenny have secured the garden tarp just as the first gust of the wet season wind whips across the ridge, testing the new stakes. The tide remains high, lapping at the dock pilings where the shim groans under the rising surge pressure.
