Jenny sits at the kitchen table in the grey light, pen moving through the medevac authorization forms while a pot of limpets simmers on the stove. Kevin steps in from the porch with the dinghy sail bundle and epoxy tub, setting them on the workbench to wait for the humidity to drop. The shortwave radio sits charged on the shelf, the barometer reads 1018 and rising, and the tide is still low outside.
