Night at the cottage

The cottage is dark except for the stove's dull glow. Outside, the wind has shifted northerly and carries the smell of rain. The barometer sits at 1014 hPa, steady for now. Kevin and Jenny are in their bunks, the shortwave silent on the table, the tide low and the beach littered with new driftwood.
