The Storm Sets In

The heavy rain lashes the roof of the cottage as the wind howls from the west. Kevin and Jenny gather inside to wait out the peak of the squ.

The rain tapers to a steady, heavy rhythmic drumming against the tin roof of the cottage. The air is humid and smells of wet earth and salt. Inside, the heat from the wood stove has created a reprieve from the damp chill, though the tide continues to climb, lapping at the dock pilings far below.
