The Rising Tide

Kevin and Jenny stand on the dock as the rising tide laps against the pilings. The air remains heavy and still while the barometer holds steady at 999 hPa under the grey sky.

Kevin ran the Yanmar generator to charge both battery banks while the barometer held steady at 999 hPa. Jenny checked the water tank overflow and found it clear, then returned to the cottage to monitor the heirloom seeds drying in the low oven.
