The rain turns to a driving downpour, blurring the view of the north ridge and the tide pools.

Kevin braces a spare two-by-four against the cottage shutter to stop the wood from splitting further. He then goes inside to fetch the ankle brace, re-wrapping Jenny's leg with clean gauze while she watches the rain begin to race down the glass.
