The Storm Breaks Early
The first heavy drops of rain hit the dry dust of the shrine as the wind begins to howl through the trees.
Kevin managed to get the heavy tarp over the garden to protect the seedlings as the wind picked up. Jenny struggled to hold the edge near the stone wall, using her body weight to prevent it from tearing away. They eventually secured the corners with stones, but the wind continues to lash the cottage-side structure.
Kevin! Get the tarp over the sea beets now! The wind is turning too fast!
I grab my notebook from the stone bench and sprint toward the half-weed garden, reaching for the heavy rocks to pin down the soil.

On it. Tarp first, then rocks.
sprint to the cottage, grab the heavy-duty tarp from the stack by the door, and run back toward the garden, unfolding it as I go.

Watch the edge near the stone wall! If it lifts, we'll lose the seedlings! Use the heavy stones by the wayets!
I drop to one knee, wincing as the ankle shifts, and throw my body weight onto the corner of the tarp to anchor it against the wind.

Stones coming—hold that corner!
grab two fist-sized rocks from the path, throw them onto the tarp's flapping edge near the stone wall, then sprint to the opposite side and weight it down with another pair, using my body to pin the center while Jenny holds the corner.
