The pressure continues to drop as the humid air thickens with the scent of coming rain. Kevin leaves the Yanmar alone, the vibration in the shaft a stubborn reminder of an unfinished task, while Jenny finishes sowing the heirloom seeds just as the sky darkens a bruised purple.
You wipe the grease from your hands and look at the darkening clouds. The rain is picking up speed again.
Kevin — wipe hands on rag, secure engine cover, coil the test leads, and walk back up the jetty toward the cottage.
