Rising Tide and Crate Prep

Kevin checks the tension on the mooring lines as the tide brings the floating crate toward the pilings. Jenny sits on a dock plank, sketching the salt glands on a sea beet while the sky thickens.

Kevin and Jenny recovered the waterlogged crate from the surf by towing it alongside the dock with a spare warp, but the crate shifted violently in the rising tide. Kevin slipped on the slick lid while shoving it toward the ladder, wrenching his knee, and Jenny's bad ankle gave way under the strain of holding the line.
